HP Smart Tank 750 All-in-One

The last time that I used the HP App was January 2nd, I had no issues at that time. When I tried to use it last January 12, it kept on showing "Do you want to allow this app to make changes..." Even after clicking yes, it will still pop up around 5 - 10x before launching the app. Then it will continue to show that pop-up even while the app is opened.

I already tried the following but still having the same issues.
Settings > Apps > Advanced options > Repair then reboot pc
Settings > Apps > Advanced options > Reset then reboot
Un-install then reboot, re-install then reboot.

It seems to be working fine on my phone. Any other suggestions?

The application is perhaps trying to update -- the timing sounds about right, in fact.

HP Smart on my system was updated on 8-January-2024 to version 151.1.1087.0

Try / Consider...

Open your Windows Store on your computer

Go to your Library -

"Get Updates" to update whatever apps are in the queue (or should be in the queue to be updated).

Updating manually in the Store will help as long as there are not other reasons why the app cannot update on your system.

I already uninstalled and reinstalled it last Friday and also earlier today. I still clicked on the Get updates button and it only updated 2 other apps that I have.

Try here:

Help Here:  Unable to download and install the HP app printer app

and

Check / Update  >> Every device (computer(s) and / or mobile) where HP app is installed should be running the latest version of the HP app application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).

What else?

Well, I don't know -- the image shows "Modified today" --

Odd that the app is apparently updating but not actually installing / sticking.

You could try Resetting the HP app.

The app reset is not generally meant to fix a Windows Store Update issues.

If you have  not yet done so, perhaps investigate whether there is something going on with the Microsoft Store.

What?

Apps should not install, not install, ask to install, go in circles.

Windows 10 – Windows 11

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store

What else?

Perhaps Reset the HP Smart app.

Might kick it free of the endless installation request loop.

NOTE > If you skip one or more steps and things don’t work, consider going back and adding the missed checkpoints to your procedure.

Reminder

It is important that every device is using the latest version of the HP app for that device type.

Check / Update >> Every device (computer(s) and mobile) where HP app is installed should be running the latest version of the HP app application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).

AND

The printer and device (computer, tablet, phone) where HP app is running should be on the same network.

That might be enough…

Stop if everything is now working.

Next,

Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network

That might be enough (at least short term) -- check...

Stop if everything is now working.

Next,

Windows

Check / Run Windows Updates > Install any pending updates

Next,

If not previously completed,

Restart everything, including the router that controls your network.

Can’t stand it?  Consider:  Restart computer(s) and printer.

Next,

Open and Check HP app

Stop if everything is now working.

If the HP app opens but does not work or hangs partly open:

Close the HP App

If you cannot close HP app: Restart the computer and log in

Do not start the HP app yet.

No Joy?

Windows - Reset HP app Application

Next,

Reset the HP app application - This action removes the app data.

How to...

Windows 10 -

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

OR

Windows 11 -

Settings > Apps > Installed Apps

Next,

Search / Find HP app in the apps list

Open Advanced options > Reset the app

Restart the computer and log in

Open HP app> Sign in > Add Printer(s)

If the app Reset does not work by itself, add:

Next,

Uninstall the HP App from Settings > Apps > Apps and Features / Installed Apps

Restart the computer and log in

“Get” a new copy of the HP app application from the Microsoft Store

Open HP app> Sign in > Add Printer(s)

Still Rubbish

FYI only

If nothing else works – Consider --

Uninstall the HP app from Windows > Restart the computer and log in

AND

While connected to the same (home / office) network as your computer,

Uninstall the HP app from other device(s) on your network

After the app is removed > Restart the device (for example, iPad, iPhone)

Next,

Repeat for each mobile device where you want to install the HP app application:

Install the HP app on the mobile device

Start HP app > Sign into the app > Add printer(s)

Next,

Restart the computer and log in

Install a fresh copy of the HP app application for Windows
