HP color laser jet MFP M281cdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP color laser jet MFP M281cdw multi function printer. It works fine on several other laptops and desktops in my home over wireless, both scanning and printing.  On my HP Spectre x360, I can scan but not print. I have uninstalled the printer, drivers, software, hp smart, made sure I had all Win10 updates, reinstalled everything get same result. If I go into HP Smart and go under printer settings, then printer reports, the printer will print all the reports, but says it cannot connect to the printer. This is the only way I have been able to get it to print at all. Any help would be appreciated.

@McBoom,

Thank you for reaching HP Community. I would be happy to help!

As the printer is working on the other computer, this could be a driver issue.

Please follow the below solution to resolve the issue.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-pro-m280-m281-multifunction-print...

Try to print.

Keep me posted, how it goes!
