Can't setup new (Feb 2024) HP DeskJet 2800 printer to a new wi-fi router. Tried and tried.... seen other members have had the same issue. Iv'e looked at the community feedback and see the HP link that I've clicked on to go through the troubleshooting but that doesn't work either. I have to bluetooth directly to the printer to get anything from it which isn't ideal as I use it for work.

General advice if you have a new modem but not specific for your 2800
1 - Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer
2 - Wi-Fi connection is lost after router or network settings change

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it still won’t finish the set up and I’ve tried the links you’ve sent.
maybe the only solution is to just buy a wire to connect via the Ethernet port…
don’t know what else to try and it was so easy to set it up with the original router!

Yea, hardwired will work but the cables can be tripped over or chewed up by the dog.
You might try a power line extender. I used TPlink before I wired up my home.
Do you have a mesh system? If you have several WiFi units the connection has to be handled differently than normal WiFi.
I am not sure why but some printers have a problem when the same SSID is used for both 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band. You might try renaming the 2.4 or the 5 band and try again
