I just upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 on a desktop computer. The computer "cannot find the device", so I cannot install the drivers. Please help.

Hi @AjidBat,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To resolve the issue with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2775 printer not connecting to your computer after upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 10, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Ensure Printer is Powered On and Connected:

  • Make sure your printer is turned on and properly connected to your computer via USB cable or Wi-Fi.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure both the printer and computer are on the same network.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Printer and run the troubleshooter to check for issues with your printer.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Remove the old printer driver:
    • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    • Right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
  • Go to the HP Support website and search for HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2775 drivers for Windows 10.
  • Download and install the latest drivers compatible with Windows 10.
  • During the installation, make sure you select the correct connection method (USB or wireless).

Check Device Manager for Issues:

  • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
  • Look for any issues under the Printers or Universal Serial Bus controllers section. If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to your printer, right-click and select Update driver or Uninstall and reinstall.

Restart Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • In the Services window, locate Print Spooler.
  • Right-click it and select Restart.

Use HP Smart App (if using wireless):

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Use the app to set up your printer wirelessly and check if it can find your printer.

Try these steps and let me know if your printer is recognized on your Windows 10 computer!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
