Can't add my printer to my profile since HP doesn't recognize my product's serial number.

I am certain there are no typo's. I purchased an HP Envy printer this past year from a large retailer.

Hi @mkris1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! Thanks for posting your query!

We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for confirming that the serial number was entered correctly and that the printer was purchased recently from a large retailer.

I understand how frustrating it is when something so straightforward doesn’t work as expected, especially when you're trying to register your device.

To help pinpoint what’s going on, could you please share a few more details?

  1. Exact model name of your HP Envy printer (e.g., HP ENVY 6055e, HP ENVY Inspire 7220e, etc.)
  2. Where you’re trying to add the printer—is it through the HP App, HP Smart website, or another platform?
  3. Is the printer already set up and working, or are you still in the setup process?
  4. Was the printer part of a bundle or promotional offer, such as Instant Ink or a special edition?

Once I have this information, I’ll guide you through the most effective next steps to get your printer recognized and added to your profile.

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
