Hi @meleleaaphus,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Power Connection:
- Ensure the printer is properly plugged into a power source. Try connecting the power cord directly to a wall outlet if it's connected to a power strip.
Restart Printer:
- Disconnect the Power Cord: With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug and Wait: Unplug the power cord from the power source and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect and Turn On: Plug the power cord back into the printer and then into the wall outlet. Press the power button to turn on the printer.
Check for Blocked Buttons:
- If the buttons are not responding, make sure there are no obstructions or debris around them that could be preventing their operation.
Reset Wi-Fi Settings:
- Reset Wireless Connection: Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the wireless light blinks.
- Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Use the HP Smart app to set up the wireless connection again. Follow the prompts to enter your Wi-Fi network name and password.
Fix Purple Light Behavior:
- Purple light from the middle to sides: Indicates the printer is in Auto Wireless Connect mode and is waiting to connect to a mobile device or computer.
- Purple light in the center: Indicates the printer is waiting for Wi-Fi network credentials in the HP Smart app.
- Press WPS Button: Use the WPS button on your router and the WPS button on the printer to attempt a WPS setup.
Verify Device Recognition:
- If the printer is making a sound upon connecting to your PC but is not showing up, check the Device Manager on your computer:
- Open Device Manager: Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager.
- Check for Printer: Look under Ports (COM & LPT) or Universal Serial Bus Controllers for any printer-related devices.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Download Latest Drivers: Visit the HP Support Website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Reinstall Drivers: Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer, then reinstall the newly downloaded ones.
Factory Reset:
Refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults.
I hope this helps.
