When I first bought and setup my printer I enrolled into the instant ink subscription plan. After several months I had to cancel the subscription. ever since I cancelled it I have been having issues with my printer. so now whenever I go to print, I have to turn off the printer turn it back on, then when I get it to show it is online, I go to print something and it goes to where all the lights are flashing. then I get it back online. it prints the alignment page so I run the alignment stuff but before it finishes aligning it starts all over again after doing this for a couple of hours. I get to print a page or two then it starts all over again. My question is if it is required that you have a subscription to instant ink in order for the printer to work smoothly with no issues?

Check Network Connection: Make sure your printer is still connected to your wireless network. You can do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer's menu.
Restart Devices: Power off your printer and disconnect it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then reconnect and power it back on. Similarly, restart your computer and router.
Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware by visiting the HP Support site and checking for firmware updates specific to your printer model, HP DeskJet 4152e.
Reconfigure the Printer: Consider removing the printer from your computer's list of devices and then reinstall it. Go to "Devices and Printers" on your computer, remove the printer, and add it again by following the setup instructions from HP.
Check HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to check printer status and connectivity issues. The app can often diagnose problems and offer troubleshooting steps.
Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, you may want to reset the printer settings to default, ensuring you have a fresh start. Refer to your printer manual for guidance on performing a factory reset.
