Hi,
My HP laserjet pro mfp m125nw installation is constaintly failing. It gets to 99% (very slow) and ends with a "fatal error". The message is (in dutch) "de uitvoering van de installatiebewerking duurde te lang. dit is een fatale fout waardoor het product niet kan worden gebruikt. start de computer opnieuw op ... " etc.
(I am using the latest driver / full solution: "LJPro_MFP_M125-126_full_solution_15188")
When checking the logs i get:
[2016-05-14 23:00:08.2878] - Error - ThreadTimeOut : USBConnectEngine.AbortThreadOnTimeout()
[2016-05-14 23:02:03.4636] - Info - InstallStatus=FinishedFailError
Please provide suggestions as how to solve this problem.
Kind regards,
Jim.

Hi,
I tried the steps you suggested. However, I was unable to find a "HP Universal printing ..." node in the device manager (I expanded all nodes).
And yes, I am logged in as administrator.
Because the logs suggested it was an usb problem, I connected the scanner via wireless network. This solved the installation problem and I can use my hp again for printing and scanning (via wireless).

Welcome @Jim12341,
Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are getting a "fatal error" when trying to install the printer software. Thanks for providing that detailed information. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Perform a clean boot on the computer and turn off the Antivirus Software: How to perform a clean boot.
Then run the installation again. Immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow the steps in this document: A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. This should resolve this error message.
