Hi! Each time I try to run the HP Printer and Scan Doctor, it says that I need administrator permissions, even though I am logged in as the administrator.
I have tried opening the program several times with "run as administrator", but I always the same message.
I have also deleted the Scan Doctor file from Windows C and reinstalled it through the HP Support Assistant, but with the same result.
I have also checked in my User Profile that I have all permissions.
Can anyone suggest what else I can try.
Thanks, Peter

HP has launched a new version of HPPSdr last days: HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows 5.6.2.008. It works fine without errors.

Hi Rschnauzer. I've had no reply to a my post, but I have found a way round the problem, which was stopping me from setting up my printer with a new Wifi system.
I created a new User account in Windows 10(which I called HP) and gave it administrator rights. Then I loaded up all the HP Programs (especially HP Smart and HP Support Assistant) into that account. Next I went through the install new printer procedure and everything worked fine, including the Print Doctor.
The printer now works fine with all user accounts.
So the problem seems to be some incompatibility inside my main user account.
Hope that helps. Peter

Thanks Peter,
that may explain some other problems with scan and HP update.
It is like a joke, that the product to help to solve problems crates problems by it self and nobody has a solution.
I will use your bypass only if the problems escalates.
I think the best would be to deinstall all HP software and printers and reinstall everything.
But I fear also the deinstall procedures will fail and I have to manually delete files and directories, but I don't know how to clear the registry from HP.
Best Regards
Rschnauzer

Honestly, I'm so sick and tired of Win10 Updates screwing up my printer installation and HP doing nothing about it.
How hard could it be for them to work together with Microsoft to create a fix for these problems, but instead for months you have to search for workarounds or ways to fix it, which work for some, but not for everyone until one day either another windows update or finally a hp driver update fixes it.
A company like HP should do better, it's a huge disservice to the people buying their products, but I guess as long as they get your money, nothing else matters to them.
