I just got an hp s/w update. Now, after getting the update, I can't print. The printer console displays this error message. I went to the website displayed, which just says that you sent me this trojan horse update on purpose. You cheats. I bought this printer at Costco. I am going to report what you did to them and all over social media. HP used to be a great company. Your name stinks now.

Hello @SteveMiller1 .
Needless to say, they are security implementations that the company adds for the proper functioning or performance of the products it sells.
I do not work for Hp.....

Yes. The f/w update looks for non-HP cartridges and locks you out of your printer. Period. There is no fix except to revert to an older f/w version and then lock HP out of auto updates. There is a method for doing so on youtube. It worked on my HP laserjet pro MFP M281 cdw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSfI8j7JmRQ
I updated and my 17 year old son could not print a needed assignment for school. Epson also did this.
