officejet 6978
macOS 10.14 Mojave

So I noted that My printer updated drivers, I no longer could get easy scan to work.

tried to download old set & no luck, directly went to new app & wouldn't let me use it because I wasn't running Os 11 or better,

So.. called in & got no help. My printers scanner was bricked.

went through all the resets and no luck.

Anyone out there figure out a solution I could use the help.

I am not able to update from 10.14 due to software in use

 Thanks

Hi @pJ167 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're facing a compatibility issue with your HP Officejet 6978 scanner after a driver update, and you're unable to use Easy Scan on macOS 10.14 Mojave. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Reinstall the Latest Drivers:

  • Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers specifically designed for macOS 10.14 Mojave. Sometimes, reinstallation of drivers can resolve compatibility issues.

Check HP Software for Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the software you are trying to use is compatible with macOS 10.14 Mojave. Visit the HP support website and check the software requirements for your specific printer model.

Use macOS Default Scanning Software:

  • Try using the built-in scanning software that comes with macOS. Open the "Preview" application and go to "File" > "Import from Scanner" or "Import from [your printer model]." This will use the default scanning driver provided by macOS.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
