Microsoft Windows 11

I had a new laptop and downloaded the HP Smart app but it will not open the, Manage Account,  meaning I can't get information re the printer ink etc.  What made it worse was that I purchased a new printer today but was unable to set it up on my laptop due it not being able to access my account via HP smart. I ended up logging on to my old desktop pc which just about works but luckily HP Smart worked properly so managed to set it up this way. Why won't it open on my laptop?  My PC is on its way out hence the upgrade. PC is windows 10, laptop 11 not sure if that has anything to do with it.  Browser used is Microsoft Edge but also tried Chrome, neither worked.

@ZH73, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

HP Smart App Bug or Corruption

Sometimes the app installation gets corrupted or does not work well on certain systems.

Uninstall HP Smart:

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, search for HP Smart, and uninstall it.

Then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store: HP Smart

Windows Account Permissions / UAC Issues

HP Smart sometimes requires admin permissions to access certain features like account login or ink services.

Try right-clicking the HP Smart shortcut and choosing Run as Administrator.

If you’re using a non-admin user account on the laptop, try logging in with an admin account.

HP Smart Account Cache Issues

HP Smart may have trouble signing in or syncing your account if cached data is corrupted.

Open Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Advanced Options

Click Reset (this will clear the cache/data but keep the app installed)

Reopen the app and sign in again.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi, thank you for your reply, unfortunately after trying these steps it still does not let me access my account.   After I did the reset I was still signed in too so clearly didn't reset fully did the same when I uninstalled it and then reinstalled.  It will not let me sign out either. It's really frustrating
