Hi @Azwheels,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I can offer some general advice on troubleshooting this type of problem.

  • Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. HP often releases firmware updates to address various issues, including unexpected behavior. Visit the HP support website and check for the latest firmware for your specific model.
  • Power Source: Make sure the printer is connected to a stable power source. Unstable power can sometimes cause electronic devices to behave unexpectedly. Try plugging the printer into a different outlet or using a surge protector.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a complete power cycle by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.
  • Check Scheduled Jobs: Some printers have a feature that allows them to wake up and perform certain tasks at scheduled times. Check the printer settings or user manual to see if there are any scheduled tasks that might be causing the printer to turn on automatically.
  • Network Connection: If your printer is connected to a network, check if any devices on the network are trying to access or communicate with the printer. Sometimes, network activity can trigger the printer to turn on.

Always refer to the user manual for your specific printer model for detailed instructions and troubleshooting steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
