I had HP-Smart on my almost 30 years old 32 Bit desktop. The machine died at the end of last month and I replaced the machine with 64 bit machine with Windows 11 OS. I scanned a document and found out there is no option for .tif format. I used to have that with my old 32 bit machine. Why .tif is deleted or I am missing something?
Any help will be appreciated.

@Apan, I see you were interacting with @Kuroi_Kenshi however, he's away for now and I'd love to help you out!
HP Smart is a versatile app for managing printing and scanning tasks with HP printers, including the HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-one Series. However, there are instances where certain functionalities differ between 32-bit and 64-bit systems, particularly with newer operating systems like Windows 11.
Possible Reasons for Missing .TIF Format:
Software Version Differences:
- The version of the HP Smart app may differ on your new system, potentially resulting in different available formats.
Operating System Differences:
- Windows 11 and its application compatibility can differ from older versions like what might have been running on your previous 32-bit machine. Some file format options may have been deprecated or not fully supported.
Driver Updates:
- Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP ENVY 5660 on the new machine. Sometimes specific file types become available or supported when the latest printer drivers are installed.
Recommended Actions:
Update or Reinstall HP Smart: Make sure you are using the latest version of HP Smart, which can be downloaded and updated via the Microsoft Store. This might resolve the issue if it's related to application version discrepancies.
Check Compatibility and Settings:
- Navigate through the HP Smart settings to ensure that all available file format options are properly set up. There may be hidden options or preferences that need adjusting.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

My old Envy is having problem with connecting with my Wi-Fi. So I have ordered a new HP All-in-one. Let's see if that will solve the issue. Hopefully, that will at least resolve my scan issue. The older version was more user friendly than the newer version.
Anyway, thanks for the information.

Hi @Apan,
Thanks for the update—and congrats on your new HP All-in-One! 😊 Hopefully, the new printer will bring a smoother experience and give you the file format flexibility you're used to, including .TIF.
You're absolutely right—some users do find the older versions a bit more intuitive, and we're always passing that kind of feedback along to the development team.
If the scan issue persists even with the new device, feel free to reach out. We’re always here to help!
Wishing you a smooth setup and happy printing,
ZOEY7886
