My ink levels are fine, I have worked through all troubleshooting (align/clean heads etc)....I reset printer, it printed the response test page perfectly. As soon as I ask the printer to print any document (rtf. / word doc /pdf. etc, all I get is blank pages. I even changed text to simple red or blue or green, and no text prints, yet I see all the colours on a test page

Was the printer unused for a longer period, a few months?

Yes it was.

Replace ink cartridges. They dried inside from the printer not being used for a long period.
