I have a HP4528 which works perfectly via USB. It is connected to a LENOVO PC with W10, all updates installed.
Via Wifi it doesn't work automatic recto-verso, just manual.
I tried to solve this problem whith HP Print & Scan Doctor and had no result.
I had the same problem with my previous PC (HP).
HP Support solved it by installing an additionnal HP printer (HP5640 if I'm right).
Thanks for your help.

No, if you do not know which update is in question, do not uninstall anything, you may have problems operating Windows. Because you will have new files that will not work.

Hello Boeotian,
To connect a wireless printer, follow these steps:
Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners . ...
Next to Add a printer or scanner, select Add device.
Wait for it to find nearby printers, then locate the one you want to use, and select Add device.

Hello Boeotian,
If you have a setup screen on the printer, make sure WI-FI is configured correctly. Otherwise,
do it. Once done, on the printer screen, you can configure double-sided printing.
Do it.

@ Boeotian ,
Now that you have activated WI-FI, do the same operation as the first time. if that doesn't work, do this:
Place a document to be printed on the printer glass, make a copy, put 2/2 (For double-sided printing). Naturally the document that you put on the printer glass has a double-sided design. For a test. if it works configure double-sided, to print a document. 1/1 is for single-sided printing.
Before, it worked like this?

Hi Bernard42,
- If found the way to access the double sided printer parameter on the printer screen. It just say to set up the parameter for recto-verso on the printer program on my PC or mobile.
- I did what you proposed. It works perfectly if the default printer is via USB. It prints 2 separate pages if the default printer is via wifi.
