HP OfficeJet Pro 8134e All-in-One Printer

I have spent hours trying to print from a laptop to HP 8134e offline with a USB cable. It simply doesn't work. Wifi Direct doesn't work either, except from a phone. This product really should state clearly that a wifi connection is essential. For me, it is a complete waste of money and time.

Check USB Connection

  • Test the Cable: Ensure that the USB cable is working properly by testing it with another device or using a different cable.
  • Ports: Try different USB ports on your laptop. Sometimes certain ports may not function correctly, especially if they’re USB 3.0 vs. 2.0.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: It’s essential to have the correct drivers installed for USB printing to work. Go to HP's official website and download the latest drivers for your printer.

WiFi Direct Not Working

  • Wi-Fi Direct Settings: Make sure that Wi-Fi Direct is enabled on the printer. You can check this in the printer’s settings menu. Usually, it's found under Network settings.
  • Device Compatibility: Sometimes, Wi-Fi Direct works differently with phones than with laptops due to differing protocols. Make sure your laptop supports Wi-Fi Direct, as some models might not fully support it.
  • Reconfigure Wi-Fi Direct: If possible, reset the Wi-Fi Direct settings on the printer and try reconnecting.
