HP8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ive bought a 8710 printer , had 8600 for 5 years and never had problems

But this one has an odd way of working . Sometimes print jobs disapear from the queue , try again and nothing again

Ive found that a word document , if has pictures , doesnt work , and it i remove them, it works , it prints

I do HP Print Scan doctor, it says everything i fine and prints the test page

But again , if i go and print w images , nothing happens . Could it be the PCL , dont accept jpg ?

Ive tried to install, uninstall drivers and nothing happens . my old 8600 never gave headaches this way , i need to work !

Ive seen there are many cases in the forum and in the Net about this issue , but not a clear solution,

Can someone help ? Im removing all symbols from header of my documents so can work and  print something

Regards

Welcome to the HP Support Community

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

How is the printer connected? (USB or Wireless)

Make sure the computer is up to date.

Let's try to fix this issue by doing a clean install.

Follow the steps mentioned below:

First, unplug the USB cable from the printer is present.

Go to Control panel - Programs and feature - Select your HP printer entries and uninstall them.

Now go to Control panel - Devices and printer - Select all the printer entries and remove the device.

Restart your computer.

Click the bottom-left Start button on the desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu.

Once in device manager, click on the view tab in the top & choose "Show hidden devices".

Then from the device manager list, check the entries under "Printer" - If there are any entries, please right click and choose "uninstall" - In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says "Delete the driver software for this device".

Also, check the entries under "printer queue" and "imaging devices" and repeat the same exercise.

Delete any printer entry or any entry which says "Unknown device".

Once done, close device-manger.

Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.

Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well. Again, go to Run window, type - "c:/programdata" - Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

Once done you can try cleaning out your temporary files and cached files.

You can try using automated applications like some cleaner software's that you can download from the internet.

Now restart your computer again. Open the Run window again, type "services.msc" and press ok to get services window. Scroll down to "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" - right-click and go to properties.

Make sure the service is started and startup type is "Automatic".

Now scroll up and go to "Function Discovery Provider Host" - right-click and select properties - Change the startup type to "manual" and start the service.

Repeat the same exercise on "Function Discovery Resource Publication" as well.

Then, click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-... to download and install the printer driver.

Try to print.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

I need to take a cold beer before making all your steps ...

Some additional topics

-Its connected by ethernet cable , no usb or wifi , my lenovo is also connected to network by ethernet , everything is faaster this way. only mobile devices are connected by wifi

-this issue is random, ive found if i start the PC in the morning , it prints fine , but sometimes , something happens , and printing becomes crazy, only letters, no images, and jobs w images simply dont appear on the jobs list-queue . Today ive managed to work without stress, printer was fine .

-and this is not any crazy sw that i use that could orignate, i just use office skype chrome and printkey2000 to save some printscreens

This weekend , w the cold beer in front of me , ill make all your steps . But its strnage , HP8600 never gave any SW issues, only hw when head was dead, no way to put yellow head spraying ink, price of a head is almost the price of 8710 ...

Cheers and thank you

Let's try to Create a local user or administrator account using this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-acc....

Then, install the driver and check if this works out.

Keep me posted.

Cheers:)
