I'm using an iMac and a HP C4795 Printer, and continually got the message that part of the printing mechanism would damage my computer. I finally downloaded a new printer driver, installed it, and all is working well.

I just chatted with HP support and we got the issue solved. The agent took control of my computer and all we did was uninstall everything and reinstall it. They said the HP Easy Start app was not fully updated and that's why I had been getting the error message. I have printed twice since and have not seen the error message.

I could not print with my HP5255 on my MacBook Air. Repeatedly tried to update the operating system along with the HP fix. Finally separated the two updates and just went for the HP update. It uploaded but still no printer. A new HP fix appeared a couple hours later. That plus reinstalling my printer as if new produced a printer. Not sure about scan and fax
