HP LaserJet Pro M15w Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I deleted my printer from my list of devices on my laptop.  I need assistance in connecting it back.  I don't know how else to explain this. I've  had  the printer for a while so I had to get new software from 123hp.com.  Tried to do it myself, however, it tells me it can't find printer.  Of course, it's because I deleted it.   HELP ...please.  Thank you

Hi @Aida21,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding setting up your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure Printer is Powered On: Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Download and Install Software:

  • Visit 123.hp.com and download the recommended software for the HP LaserJet Pro M15w printer. This should include the HP Smart app, which can simplify setup.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app after installation.
  • Click on the "+" or "Add Printer" button to begin searching for your printer.
  • Ensure your laptop is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer for the app to detect it.

Troubleshoot Network Connection:

  • If the printer is not detected, ensure it is connected properly to the network. You might need to reset its network settings.
  • On the printer, press the "Wireless" button to activate the Wi-Fi setup mode. You can usually find this on the printer control panel or refer to the printer's manual for instructions.

Re-add Printer Manually:

  • If the printer is not detected automatically, you can try adding it manually:
    • Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners" on your Windows 11 laptop.
    • Click on "Add device," and follow the prompts to manually add your printer, ensuring the correct driver is installed.

Check Firewall Settings: Occasionally, firewall settings can block printer detection. Temporarily disable any firewalls or check their settings to ensure they aren't preventing printer connection.

Restart Your Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your laptop and printer can resolve connection issues.

I hope this helps.
