The HP Smart Guide that appears when installing doesn't appear on my computer after the installation is completed. It is very helpful for printing, scanning, running diagnostics etc,. I would like to have a HP icon or the HP Smart guide on my computer. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for replying to my question.

Connection will be wireless.

Windows PC

After my PC upgraded to Windows 11 Home Edition, the printer stopped printing. I had to try several times to reinstall it. Finally it was reinstalled but not using HP Smart. It is printing good. I would like to have the HP Smart Guide to do periodically maintenance, check ink levels, etc. 

The printer is not in warranty. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you for sharing the above information.

Please follow the below steps to fix the issue.

 

A) Perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Uninstall and reinstall the HP smart app following the below steps.

 

1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.

 

2) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.

 

Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

I have done the uninstall, reinstall, etc. so many times. It is hard for me to even think about going through it one more time. Why does it show t hat  he very same printer twice, once under HP Smart and another installed printer? The computer lets me know which one is actively installed to use. I am taking a break for doing all this again. Thanks for your assistance.
