I want to installate the app "HP smart" but I can't because my computer says that I have Mac OS 10.15.7 and its the newest on the computer, but here on the site it says that I can only do that if I have Mac OS 11.

Hi @Sergio241,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering compatibility issues trying to install the HP Smart app on your Mac running OS 10.15.7 (Catalina), and the app specifically requires macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, there are a few options you can consider.

  • Check for Updates: Sometimes, developers update their apps to support older operating systems after initial release. Check the HP Smart app's website or the Mac App Store periodically to see if an update becomes available that supports macOS Catalina.
  • Use Web Interface or Alternatives: Instead of using the HP Smart app, you might be able to access the functionality you need through the web interface provided by HP. Alternatively, you could explore other printing and scanning software available for macOS that are compatible with your current operating system version.
  • Virtual Machine or Dual Boot: If you absolutely need the HP Smart app and cannot find an alternative, you could consider running macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later in a virtual machine on your Mac or setting up a dual-boot system. However, this can be complex and may not be suitable for everyone.
  • Upgrade macOS: While this might not be an option for everyone, upgrading your macOS to a version supported by the HP Smart app is a straightforward solution if your hardware is compatible.

Remember to always download software from official sources to avoid potential security risks associated with downloading from third-party sites.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
