Hello!

My Laser Jet Printer was delivered with the software ReadIris Pro (it's offered for download on the support pages). But after installing, I get asked for an activation code to use it. Where do I find this activation code? Is there a way to retrieve it via the HP support? Or did I do something wrong when installing the software?

Thanks for your answers!

Hi,

IRIS OCR will activate automatically for a single computer with  the HP Software installed so first be sure to confirm that you haven't activate IRIS OCR on another computer prior, if it was already activated on another computer it will not fill any activation code automatically if it was already activated for your product on another computer.

Once confirming above, Let's reset the printing system and reconfigure the printer via HP Smart:

*Be aware that resetting the printer system will remove any existing print queue and reset any customized driver settings.

Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences .
Select Printers & Scanners.
Right-click (or Ctrl + click) your product in the Printers list in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system .
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user Name and Password .
Click OK . The printing system resets.

Now open HP Smart, if you printer is listed right-click (or CTRL+Left click) the printer image and select Hide Device.

Click Add Printer and then Setup a new printer and follow the steps on screen to complete the printer installation, when a product registration screen appear on your browser, be sure to go back to HP Smart and complete the process to add the printer there, it may take some minutes till the next dialog appears during this stage.

Once completing the configuration and seeing the printer back under Printers & Scanners, open IRIS Pro again and check if the activation code is filled now, if not please try connecting the printer with a USB cable if this is a network connection and check if it may completes then.
