Hi @GordonAr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

You can scan multiple items at once and have them automatically saved as separate files using the HP Smart app. Follow these steps:

Open the HP Smart app: Open the HP Smart app on your device.

Select Scan Tile: On the home screen, select one of the scan tiles.

  • For Windows and macOS: Click Scan, and then select Scanner Glass from the Source menu.
  • For Android and iOS: Tap Printer Scan or Camera Scan.

Prepare the Items for Scanning:

  • Printer Scan: Place up to three items on the scanner glass.
  • Camera Scan: Place up to three items on a flat, well-lit surface so that the device camera can take a clear capture.

Select Multi-Item Preset: Select Multi-Item from the Advance Presets menu or from the scan-type carousel, and then select any scan job settings. Advanced Scan Multi-Item scan setting selected in the HP Smart app

Start the Scan:

  • For Windows, macOS: Click Scan.
  • For Android, iOS: Tap the Scan button at the bottom of the window to start the scan.

Preview and Edit: In the Preview window, select options to add, reorder, and rotate scanned items. Click the Menu icon for options to edit, replace, or delete items.

Save the Scans: Select an option to save, print, share, or fax the scanned items.

Note:

  • Select Basic PDF in the Share or Save option to include multiple scanned pages in a single PDF file.

Let me know how it goes.
