Hi @Macattack1965 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to change the password on your HP ENVY 5055 (or any HP ENVY 5000 series printer), you’ll need to access the printer's settings through the HP Smart app or directly on the printer’s control panel.
Here are the steps:
Method 1: Using the Printer's Control Panel
- Turn on your HP ENVY 5055 printer.
- On the printer's control panel, select the Wireless or Wi-Fi Direct icon, depending on the connection type you’re using.
- Navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi Direct Settings > Wi-Fi Direct Details.
- Select Change Password and enter the new password you'd like to use.
- Confirm the new password and save your settings.
Method 2: Using the HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Select your HP ENVY 5055 printer from the app’s home screen.
- Go to Advanced Settings (or Printer Home Page). This opens the Embedded Web Server (EWS) of the printer.
- In EWS, go to the Network or Security tab (the exact name can vary).
- Select Wireless Settings or Wi-Fi Direct (depending on your connection) and find the Password field.
- Enter your new password, then Save your changes.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
