Hi @Tom10221939,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 printer is showing the message "cannot be used until enrolled in Instant Ink" and the status is marked as inactive, it means that your printer has not been successfully enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program.

To enroll your printer in the HP Instant Ink program, follow these steps.

  1. Visit the HP Instant Ink website and create an account or log in to an existing one.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to enroll your printer in the program.
  3. Once enrolled, HP will send you a welcome kit with Instant Ink cartridges to install in your printer.
  4. After installing the Instant Ink cartridges, your printer will be activated and ready to use.

If your printer is already enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program but still showing as inactive, you can try the following steps.

  1. Check that your printer is connected to the internet and that the connection is stable.
  2. Make sure that the printer is turned on and not in an error state.
  3. Check that the Instant Ink cartridges are properly installed and not expired.
  4. Go to the HP Instant Ink website and check your account status to ensure that your printer is listed as active.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
