HP Officejet 6700 Premium
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Officejet 6700 has a failed printhead and otherwise has seen better days. Before I donate it I want to erase the memory since many of the faxes that I have sent and/or received may have had personal information.  How do I perform a reset or whatever else I should do in order to erase the memory.  Thank you in advance.

Not now.  Don't worry, nobody goes after any printers that are thrown away.

Just reset the printer back to Factory and Network Defaults.  Check your fax phone numbers and delete them

Thank you sabretooth.

I do know that I should be able to do that from the touchscreen through setup and tools, or the # + 9.  However because of the "missing or failed printhead" message I am seeing on the screen, I am unable to get to the touchscreen at all, including any settings or tools.

I have Google'd solutions, and have tried restarting - hitting home and return to get to the engineering menu (http://www.svet-crnil.com/dokumentacija/hp%20930%20950%20reset%20instructions001.pdf) to no avail.

Help! (and thank you)

Sorry... your printer is toast.

Yeah, that's what I figured; but no way to reset/erase the memory?

Thanks Sabertooth. Even thought my printer was not printing anymore, and the info panel kept defauting to the Printer is stuck message, I was able to click through the screen and reset to default in the Advanced fax setup and erase our name and phone number from the Fax.

Now I can move on with confidence to my next likely problem with the new HP8710  printer.
