@CJE56, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To bypass or disable the Product Improvement Study screen on an HP printer, follow the appropriate method depending on your printer model and screen type:

For Printers with a Touchscreen (like HP OfficeJet, ENVY, Smart Tank, etc.):

  1. On the Product Improvement Study screen, select No or Decline if that option is available.
  2. If no visible “No” or “Skip” button:
  • Look for a Settings (gear icon) in the upper or lower corners.
  • Navigate to:
Settings > Preferences > Product Improvement Study
and turn it Off or select No.

For Printers without a Touchscreen:

  1. Go to your computer and open the HP Smart app.
  2. Select your printer > go to Advanced Settings (this opens the Embedded Web Server).
  3. In the Embedded Web Server:
  • Navigate to Settings > Preferences or Privacy Settings.
  • Locate Product Improvement Study or Data Collection Settings.
  • Disable or opt-out.

If It Keeps Reappearing:

  • Restart the printer after opting out.
  • Update printer firmware via HP Smart or from HP website.
  • Reset to factory defaults (only if you're stuck and can't bypass):
From the control panel: go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Actually, after googling this question again and digging some more, I found out that all I needed to do was type in my zip code. No hints for this solution were available on the page. Go figure.
