This is extremely annoying to find my computers running at 3 AM when they should be in hibernation mode. i do not give you the right to alter my scheduler settings. How do I shut this crap off permanently so it only runs when I wake the computer? If you do not have an answer, say so and I will uninstall all HP software and never buy any HP equipment again. I have a business account and you will lose it.

@RamsesMindWalke, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Scan Doctor!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your frustration with HP Scan Doctor waking your computer unexpectedly. Here are some steps you can try to address this issue:

Disable Scheduled Tasks: Check the Task Scheduler on your computer for any tasks related to HP Scan Doctor or HP software. You can disable these tasks by following these steps:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type taskschd.msc and press Enter to open Task Scheduler.
  • Look for any HP tasks in the Task Scheduler Library. Right-click on the task and select Disable to prevent it from running automatically.

Power Settings Adjustment: Make sure your power settings are configured to prevent waking from sleep or hibernation for certain tasks.

  • Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options.
  • Change plan settings for your current power plan and check the Advanced power settings.
  • Under "Sleep" or "Allow wake timers," set to disable for both battery and plugged-in options.

HP Software Settings: Inside HP Scan Doctor, there may be an option to disable automatic checks or scheduled activities. Open the program and check its settings or preferences for any options related to scheduling and disable them.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
