Hi @W_A-lter
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To print on both sides (duplex printing) using your HP Smart Tank 6000 printer, you'll need to enable double-sided printing in the printer settings. Here’s how to do it, depending on the software or method you’re using:
1. Printing Double-Sided from Windows
If you’re using a Windows PC to print, follow these steps:
- Open the Document you want to print.
- Select File > Print (or press Ctrl + P).
- In the Print dialog, choose your HP Smart Tank 6000 as the printer.
- Click on Printer Properties or Preferences (this might vary depending on the application or driver).
- In the settings window, look for the Layout or Finishing section.
- Look for an option like Duplex Printing, Double-Sided Printing, or Print on Both Sides. It might be under Print Setup or Advanced.
- Select Long-Edge Binding (for portrait orientation) or Short-Edge Binding (for landscape orientation).
- Click OK to confirm the settings.
- Click Print to start printing.
2. Printing Double-Sided from macOS
If you're using a MacBook or Mac to print, follow these steps:
- Open the Document you want to print.
- Choose File > Print.
- In the Print dialog box, ensure your HP Smart Tank 6000 is selected as the printer.
- Click on the Copies & Pages drop-down and select Layout.
- Find the option for Two-Sided or Duplex Printing.
- Select Long-Edge Binding (for portrait) or Short-Edge Binding (for landscape).
- Click Print.
3. Printing Double-Sided from the HP Smart App (Mobile)
If you're using the HP Smart App on a smartphone or tablet, you can print double-sided by following these steps:
- Open the HP Smart App and select your Smart Tank 6000 printer.
- Choose the document or photo you wish to print.
- Tap the Print button.
- Look for the Duplex Printing or Two-Sided Printing option. This might appear in the More settings or Advanced settings section.
- Enable duplex printing, and then tap Print.
4. If Duplex Printing Is Not Available
- If your HP Smart Tank 6000 does not have an automatic duplex printing function (the ability to print on both sides automatically), you can print one side first, then manually flip the paper over and reinsert it to print the other side. Most printers with automatic duplexing will allow you to select a manual two-sided option from the print settings.
- Manual Duplexing: Choose Print Odd Pages first, then flip the stack of pages, and print the Even Pages.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
