I moved from the US to the Netherlands. I have purchased HP brand ink cartridges (305) for my printer, but my printer doesn't recognize them. I believe this is because I need to change the region of my printer. How do I do this? It seems like this is something that is apparently difficult to do?

Hi @pallasathena200,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
I understand you moved, and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.
We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Yes" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping

Hello. I do not have cartridges from the previous country. The movers would not allow those to be shipped due to the possibility of leakage. My printer is still under warranty and I have been trying to contact HP for a week to get this resolved. Can you provide a different solution that does not involve US printer cartridges? As all I have access to are European ones.

Hi @pallasathena200,
Thank you for confirming. I am afraid there are any other options to reset the code without the old region cartridges.
However, I recommend you contact HP internal support to check if any alternative options.
I've sent you a private message with further instructions. In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name, or simply click on this link.
