Hi @JGRAVES070811,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I’m really sorry you're locked out of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e, which can feel incredibly frustrating. But don’t worry, there are a couple of proven ways to restore your printer to factory settings and get full access back.

Method 1: Regular Factory Reset via Touchscreen

If your settings are only partially locked, try this:

  1. Wake the printer and swipe down from the top of the touchscreen to open the Dashboard.
  2. Tap the Setup icon (⚙️).
  3. Go to Printer Maintenance, then select Restore.
  4. Choose Restore Factory Defaults and confirm by tapping Continue.
  5. Your printer will reboot and return to its original settings.

Method 2: Semi‑Full Reset Using the Hidden Support Menu

If the menu options are completely locked, this hidden method bypasses it:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect the power.
  3. Immediately press and hold both the Back (↵) and Help (?) buttons simultaneously.
  4. Continue holding until the Support Menu appears.
  5. Navigate using arrow buttons to Reset → Semi‑Full Reset, then press OK.
  6. The printer will reboot; once it's back on, settings will be restored.

Alternatively, if the Support Menu is accessible from the home screen:

  • Tap the Back button four times quickly to access it, then follow the same steps.

After the Reset

  • You’ll need to reconfigure Wi-Fi, printer preferences, and any HP+ or Instant Ink settings.
  • If you've set a custom admin password before, you'll be able to reset it now.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
