Hi @Fdeer,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Performing a semi-full or out-of-box experience (OOBE) reset on an HP OfficeJet 9730e A3 printer can help resolve issues with cartridge recognition among other problems. Here's how you can attempt this reset:

Steps for a Semi-Full Reset

Turn on the Printer: Ensure that your printer is powered on.

Access the Printer's Home Screen: If your printer has a touchscreen, go to the home screen.

Enter the Service Menu:

  • For many HP printers, you can enter the service menu by tapping the "back" arrow on the touchscreen four times. If this doesn't work on your model, this step might vary and you might need to check the specific instructions for accessing the service menu for the HP OfficeJet 9730e A3.

Navigate the Menu:

  • Once you're in the service menu, look for an option that says something like "Resets Menu" or "Semi-Full Reset". The exact wording can vary based on the printer model.
  • Select "Semi-Full Reset". This reset will clear all user settings and restore the printer to its factory default settings, similar to how it was when first unboxed (hence the term OOBE reset).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
