HP LaserJet 135w
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hello there,

I have purchased a new HP LaserJet 135w for my Mac with BigSur and I can print/scan from my Mac.

However, I wanted to initiate scans with the HP LaserJet's Scan Button and then get a PDF file with all the scanned pages on my Mac.

Yet, when I press the Scan Button on my HP135wr I get the message "not available".  Does anybody know how I can get this function activated, so that I can scan via this button?

Many thanks for your help!

Kind regards,

Nat

Hi @Nat454545,

Scanning from the printer front panel to a Mac is not possible, the scan button is only supported for WSD scanning, fr Windows operating system only, as described on page 88 of its user guide below:

Many thanks, Shlomy.

I read your message, but I struggle to  believe it as the machine was sold as usable for Mac, so that would cover all functions and not just some.

If not WSD, then is there anything else one can do to make the button work for scanning?

Thank you & kind regards,

Nat
