I just got a LaserJet MFP M234sdwe; while trying to set it up over wireless, I saw a web page (on hp.com) saying I needed to do so via the HP Smart app. I took a few steps through that, then realized I did not want to be signed up for HP+ (before even creating an HP account). Nevertheless, the printer information page that it prints out says "Your HP+ printer must be set up using the HP Smart app and requires an HP account and Internet connection for setup and use."

After further research, I have found many forum posts detailing that HP appears to lock you in to the HP+ plan if you fail to reject it during setup, and it appears that I am not given that option by the printer, even if doing a factory reset. However, this page on HP.com says that HP+ is a "Flexible plan that can be canceled at any time" and that it is "NOT A SUBSCRIPTION, CANCEL ANY TIME". These statements are clearly about HP+, not about the ink subscription service.

HP support, I want to cancel HP+ on this printer. Please help me do so.

TIA,

Mark
