How do I configure the printer to print Avery Labels (A4). There's no option Labels in the paper types. Will the Labels run smothly thrugh the printer or should I take some precautions?
Kind regards and thanks for any help

Hi @Kenneth_Tollund,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out regarding printing Avery A4 labels with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e Wide Format All-in-One Printer on Windows 11. While the printer does not explicitly list "Labels" as a media type, it is capable of printing on label sheets, including Avery A4 labels, with proper setup and precautions.
Step 1: Use Compatible Label Sheets
- Ensure you're using Avery labels designed for inkjet printers, as the OfficeJet Pro 9730e utilises pigment-based ink.
- Confirm that the label sheets are A4 size and within the printer's supported media weight range of 16 to 28 lb bond.
Step 2: Load Labels Properly
- Place the label sheets in the main input tray, label side facing down.
- Load only one sheet at a time to prevent misfeeds or jams.
- Adjust the paper width guides snugly against the edges of the label sheet.
Step 3: Configure Print Settings
- In your application (e.g., Microsoft Word), select the appropriate Avery label template corresponding to your label product number.
- In the Print dialog, click on Printer Properties or Preferences.
- Set Paper Size to A4.
- If "Labels" is not an available media type, select "Plain Paper" or "Cardstock" as the media type.
- Set Print Quality to Best for optimal results.
Step 4: Test Alignment
- Before printing on actual label sheets, perform a test print on plain A4 paper to verify alignment.
- Hold the test print behind a label sheet against a light source to ensure proper alignment.
Step 5: Print Labels
- Once alignment is confirmed, proceed to print on the label sheets.
- Allow the printed labels to dry completely before handling to prevent smudging.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
