How to connect HP Envy 6055 to ethernet?

We bought my son the HP Envy 6055 printer for his dorm in college.  For other wireless devices like his TV and video game console, he had to provide the MAC address to the help desk so they could allow it to connect to their WIFI.  When he contacted the Help Desk for his printer, they said that he would need to register it on the network using a wired connection.  Otherwise, anyone in the residence hall could print to it.  I looked at the manual and don't see a ethernet port on the printer.  But see that there is a USB port.  Is there a way to use this port to connect the printer to a network?

Sorry - USB cannot be used to connect the printer to the network.

USB is a cable connection from printer to computer only.

You are correct - there is no Ethernet connection on this printer.

Ask you son to read the section on Wi-Fi Direct and decide whether this is an option "he can live with".

You can always try it and then shut it off later if you don't want to use it...
