How to edit the time on Hp Color Laser Jet Pro MPF M283fdw?  I have tried to edit the printer time through the ‘on screen’ Time/Date location. The Date selection edits fine, MM/DD/YY; however the internal clock is not editable. There is a pause as though you could edit the time, then it defaults to the time of manufacturing.

I would have guessed it to be set to the web time. In fact this document says that it has been auto-saved an hour later than now. Whatever.

This seems like a simple question, this isn’t my first setup rodeo; and I believe this portion of my device may be defective.
So the most important, and perhaps overlooked stem of my question was that during setup, after establishing 12 or 24 hour time/dates, it rolls to time setup, there is a sufficient pause to adjust the time, BUT-However-LOOK here- I am unable To change the time, the keys are blocked/locked, I am unable To change the time!!!  I am assuming this is a system defect and was wondering if there was a work around this problem. Sounds like a firm-ware/hardware issue to me.

Hello and thanks for your return,

It is possible that the printer needs to be reset.

You will need to follow the instructions below to reset the printer:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Turn on the printer, and then, as soon as the HP logo appears, press the lower right corner of the operation panel.
    Note:
If the bottom right corner of the Permanent Storage Init. screen does not appear, repeat steps 1 and 2, but this time press the bottom left corner.
  3. When the message appears on the Permanent Storage Init. screen, drop the press on the printer control panel. The Initialization begins.
  4. When the printer has completed the Initialization, it returns to the Ready.

Don't hesitate to contact us in case of need.
