HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

I have a 9015e. The printer will tell me what firmware level it is, but I would like to know what the latest firmware version is the the 9015e, since I might want to upgrade. I have gone around and around the HP site, which referred me to the Microsoft Store site, but I got nowhere on either site in either finding out what is the latest firmware, or in how to download and install that firmware to the printer. HP Smart, which is installed on my computer, doesn't help, either.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Open Category Software and drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

If needed, Change the Operating System / version on the page to match your device.

If there is a firmware update, it will be listed along with any available apps or software.

Example

At this writing, there is not a Firmware Update listed for Windows 10 or Windows 11.

That generally indicates that the Firmware installed on the printer is the correct version for that printer.

OK - so, the answer for my first question is that, if no firmware is listed in the "available updates" page, I can assume that my 9015e has the latest firmware. But, the second part of my question wasn't answered. My computer already has HP Smart installed in it, but I don't know whether that is up-to-date. The page invited me to ask for the latest version of HP Smart. When I clicked on that, I was taken to a Microsoft Store page, showing HP Smart and stating that it was a free download. When I clicked to install, it just opened HP Smart - there was no installation done.

Perhaps the invitation message is not accurate.

??

If a new version of an application is available, app updates installed by the Store are generally handled automatically.

Perhaps this is not the case if you do not have Windows Updates set to bar "Other Updates".

Check Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options for settings.

Not applicable?  Ignore.

Check the installed version of HP Smart against the version available at the  Microsoft Store

Open HP Smart

If not done, sign into the app

Click on Settings gear (left column) > About

Check the version

Windows 11

Settings > Apps > Installed Apps

Find / Open the listing for HP Smart > Advanced Options

Under Specifications > Check "Version"

Microsoft Store

Windows Start > Windows / Microsoft Store

Installed apps ( Left column ) > Library

Select app from the list > Scroll down to see the Version

Alternatively, Get Updates

If the store determines there is an Update compared to the version installed in Apps on your system, (then) "Get Updates" action will find and install that application's newer version.

If you are unconvinced,

If HP Smart is not behaving as expected,

If the app won't open, does not work, balks, fails or issues errors,

The app can be Reset or even uninstalled / reinstalled.
