I just updated to Mac Sequoia 15.5 yesterday and now I can't print. I get a Printer Busy error. I tried to update driver from the HP site and got an error message about that driver not available. What next?

Hi @EnaKurt,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Printer Busy Error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9018!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Verify Printer Connectivity:
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your Mac. Check Wi-Fi settings on the printer to confirm connectivity.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Driver Availability: If the officially provided driver is not available on the HP site, you can try using Apple's built-in driver or an open-source driver.
Use HP Smart App:
- Download HP Smart: HP Smart is available for macOS and often can resolve driver issues. Download it from the Mac App Store.
Reset the Printing System:
- This will remove all printers and scanners, clearing any errors on macOS:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or control-click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
- Click Reset.
Add Printer Manually:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a printer.
- Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 from the list.
- Choose AirPrint or Secure AirPrint option under Use instead of HP drivers, if available.
Update macOS:
- Sometimes printers won't work properly due to compatibility issues that are fixed in later macOS updates. Ensure that macOS Sequoia is fully updated by going to System Preferences > Software Update.
Restart all Devices:
- Power cycle your printer, Mac, and router.
- Turn off each device, wait for 60 seconds, and turn them back on.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or directly on the printer LCD menu.
Print Queue Clearing:
- Cancel any print jobs in the queue on macOS by going to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > selecting your printer > Open Print Queue > cancel all jobs.
I hope this helps.
