Hi all,
Can someone please help me, and explain how to set tray 2 as default printing tray on a Laser Jet Pro MFP M479.
I have all Apple devices, which all use this printer. It's starting to get on my nerves if I forget to go into printer preferences and change trays before I press print. One would of thought the bottom tray (tray 2) would be the default tray, or at the price of this unit it would know which tray has paper in it.
Any help greatly appreciated
Paul

Tray 2 should be the default, as long as you have the paper type in tray 2 set to plain letter or A4 plain depending on paper you use and you are not requesting different paper through the driver. If you have not set the paper type from the control panel of the printer then in most cases it will be set to any size and any type, which usually causes printing to default to tray 1.

Hi Repairatrooper,
Nope that didn't sort the fault out, still have to tell the printer the paper is in tray 2. Even after setting tray 1 with no paper type or size and tray 2 with plain and A4.
Have you any other ideas before I take the printer and stick it up HP's behind.
Thank you for any help
