Hey @Doug1953,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Choose the Right Barcode Label Software

You need to have software that can create barcode labels and send them to your printer. Some commonly used options are:

  • Microsoft Word with a barcode add-in

Once the software is installed, ensure you choose HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw as your printer in the settings.

Design the Barcode

  • In your chosen software, design your label and insert the barcode(s).
  • Make sure to choose the correct barcode type (e.g., Code 128, QR Code, etc.) and enter the information to be encoded.
  • You can typically resize the barcode and label to fit the size of the label sheet or individual label.

Select the Correct Label Size

Make sure that you are using the correct type of label media for your printer. Label sheets come in various formats (e.g., Avery labels). Make sure to select the correct label size in the print settings to avoid alignment issues.

  • Avery Label Templates can be used in Word, and there are predefined options available.

Printer Settings

  • Go to the printer settings on your computer and select the HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw.
  • Select the correct paper size (e.g., A4, Letter, or custom label size).
  • For labels, make sure to adjust the print settings to Heavy Paper or Labels under the Media Type section, to ensure proper handling of thicker label sheets.

Print the Label

  • Once you've designed the barcode label in the software, press Print.
  • Verify that the print job is going to the HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw.
  • Check the printer's display or PC’s print dialog to confirm that the label settings (such as size and paper type) match your label sheets.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
