HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi,

I am on Mac OS Monterey and own an HP LaserJet P1102w. I remember I was able to do manual duplex printing on previous OS's, or on Windows, but I can't figure out how to do so on the new Mac OS (12.2). In the layout printing tab, the option of "Two-sided" is greyed out.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi,

Press the Layout drop down menu and select Paper Handling, then use the Pages to Print option to manually print on both sides from

a Mac:

Generally, you would need to reload the pages with the printed side facing down and then print the Even Only pages.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply, but it isn't very helpful. As I said and shown in the screenshot, the two-sided menu is greyed out, so I cannot follow the guide at the link you suggested.

Please let me know if you have any other solutions.

Hi,

The Two-Sided option is expected to be grayed out, as the printer does not support Automatic Duplex printing.

Please follow the support document included in my previous post which include a step-by-step guidance,

As automatic duplex is not available, you would need to follow the steps starting from step 4 in the document:

Ah yes, I missed that part. I figured I could do this already. I suppose there isn't any way to install some driver that would enable duplex printing?

I remember with this printer, I was once able to select the "two-sided" option, print, then take the printed papers and put them in the input tray, then lift the printer cover and put it back to continue the other side.
