The error "2081883393 Failed to uninstall device with serial number" on an HP printer (specifically the HP DeskJet 3636) typically indicates an issue with removing the printer from your system. Here are some steps to help you resolve this issue:

 

Method 1: Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Open the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Click on "Start" and select your printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the issue.

Method 2: Manually Remove Printer Software

Disconnect the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from your computer.

Uninstall Printer Software:

  • Open the Control Panel on your computer.
  • Go to "Programs and Features" or "Apps & Features".
  • Find any installed HP printer software (e.g., HP DeskJet 3636 series).
  • Click on the software and select "Uninstall".

Remove Printer Drivers:

  • Open the Device Manager.
  • Expand the "Printers" section.
  • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 3636 printer and select "Uninstall device".

Method 4: Reinstall the Printer

Reconnect the Printer:

  • Reconnect your HP DeskJet 3636 printer to your computer and turn it on.

Download and Install the Latest Drivers:

  • Go to the HP support website.
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software for your HP DeskJet 3636 printer.

Add the Printer:

  • Open the Control Panel and go to "Devices and Printers".
  • Click on "Add a printer" and follow the instructions to add your printer.

Method 5: Use Windows Troubleshooter

  1. Open Troubleshooter:
    • Open the Control Panel and go to "Troubleshooting".
    • Click on "View all" in the left pane.
    • Select "Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
