@MrsKaz, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To stop automatic firmware (Netfirm) updates on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035, especially when the settings are locked and cannot be changed through the standard menu, you can try the following workaround:
Restore Factory Defaults:
- On the printer's touchscreen, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore.
- Choose Restore Factory Defaults.
- This will remove any "Feature Locked" restrictions that prevent firmware settings from being changed.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- After the reset, reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Disable Firmware Updates:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer > Printer Update Options.
- Set it to Off.
- When prompted, choose Do Not Check and then No to fully disable updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
