Product: HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer

I am following the instructions in HP smart to setup security on my new printer and it says turn on monitoring to see the status of the security. The problem is that the only button I can see that remotely fits this purpose will not switch on security monitoring - it gives a message saying update in progress and then bombs out. Can you helpme?
