My wife's IPad Mini 2 runs on Ios 12.5.5.  When I try to install the HP Smart App from the Apple App Store it says it cannot install as the app needs ios 13 and I should upgrade from Ios 12.5.5, but this is not possible. Suggestions how I can use the new printer on the Ipad Mini 2 please?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand you are unable to print via HP smart app, however, you can use Apple AirPrint for iPhone, iPad as it's compatible with your printer.

Print from your Apple device

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on, cartridges are installed, and the paper you want to print on is loaded in the correct paper tray.

  2. Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon ( or ).

  3. Tap Print or the Print icon .

  4. Select your printer, and then change print settings such as paper size, number of copies, or page range. Available settings depend on the app you are printing from, the print job type, and your printer.

  5. Tap Print.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
