Hi @D551979,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet 4636 e-All-in-One Printer is unresponsive after showing a printing error, you can try these troubleshooting steps to see if it helps resolve the issue.

Power Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet and wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid using power strips or surge protectors).
  • Turn on the printer and see if it powers up properly.

Check the Power Source:

  • Ensure that the outlet is functional by plugging another device into it.
  • If the printer still doesn’t turn on, try a different power outlet.

Hard Reset:

  • With the printer powered off, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Release the button, then try turning on the printer.

Inspect Power Cord and Adapter:

  • Examine the power cord and adapter for any visible damage. If you see any issues, you may need a replacement.

Firmware or Hardware Reset:

  • If the printer responds to the power button but remains stuck, it might need a firmware update or a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
