Deskjet f4180 will not scan or copy since going to Windows 10, but does print. Error message says Photosmart software not running. I have uninstalled software twice and re-installed, but still get same error. Tried updating driver, but response tells me I have latest drivers.
What next?

As I understand your HP Deskjet F4180 Printer will not scan or copy
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you attempt a hard reset to release excessive static that could cause such issues?
If you haven't here's what we need to do:
please try the steps precisely as mentioned below:
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
-
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
If the issue persists, it's possibly a hardware malfunction:
