Hi @Whidz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 5020 printer is stuck on the boot-up screen and doesn't proceed beyond a certain point, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams inside the printer. Open the printer cover and check all areas for any stuck paper.

Reset the Printer:

  • Locate the power button on your printer.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds until the printer turns off completely.
  • Wait for a few seconds, then turn the printer back on.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any available firmware updates for your HP ENVY 5020 on the HP website.
  • If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.

Factory Reset:

  • If the issue persists, you may need to perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings on the printer.
  • Look for a reset button or a combination of buttons on your printer. Refer to the printer's manual for specific instructions on performing a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
